Aleia Tuttle

Voice

Aleia has always surrounded herself in anything music. Born in Seattle, Washington, where the music scene is huge, she started music classes as early as preschool. Kindergarten - Fifth grade she was involved in the choir classes and school musicals as a young age. Middle school gave the first true choir experience with a three section mixed choir. In 7th grade, she was selected for a state-wide Honor Choir with music from all over the world. After moving to Arizona in 8th grade, Aleia was a 4 year member of the award-winning Boulder Creek High School Choir Program. She played a major part in Clue the Musical her junior year, staring as Ms. Scarlet. During her senior year of high school, she participated in the top three choirs and student-taught a fourth. This choir experience throughout her entire life, asking with being raised by Mike Tuttle, brought knowledge of proper tonality, music theory, and advanced stylistic methods.

While at NAU she participated in the top a capella group as a freshman. All the music was student written by the seniors majoring in music composition. She also performed the solo for their arrangement of Lady Gaga's Shallow. This was part of the set they competed with at the 2019 ICCA competition where they took 3rd place, two points from reaching the semi- finals.

Recently, Aleia her band, SOS (comprised of other instructors: Mason King, Nicolas Desilva and Dylan Soto), reached the semi-finals of Alice Cooper's band competition. Rhapsody was represented with FOUR young bands at this competition.

Aleia has been a vocal instructor at Rhapsody Music for 6 years and an integral part of the Rhapsody band programs. She loves sharing her passions for vocal performance and working with students of all ages eager to learn more about their own voice.

Sydney Affeldt

Voice, Flute, Ukulele, & Piano

Sydney is a born-and-raised Arizonan who has always been drawn to music. At an early age, Sydney’s parents signed her up for after-school music classes because she just couldn’t get enough music during the day. Once she was old enough to join performance ensembles, she did. In 2010, Sydney joined Terramar Academy of the Arts band and choir, playing flute and singing. She then joined Sandra Day O’Connor High School’s award-winning marching band, playing flute and tuba. Her dedication and passion for music led her to Glendale Community College to pursue a bachelor’s degree in music education, and she is set to graduate in May 2027.

While attending Glendale Community College, Sydney has honed her musical skills in flute, tuba, and voice, and learned new instruments such as piano, ukulele, and guitar. Beyond musical skill, Sydney’s schooling has taught her many other positive attributes that directly relate to her career here at Rhapsody today. From 5 to 105, she can teach almost all ages with various backgrounds. Sydney believes that “music is for everyone and all are welcome here.” As she continues her journey here at Rhapsody, Sydney hopes to inspire all generations with a love for learning music, just as her teachers and instructors once did for her.
