OPEN TO ALL RHAPSODY MUSIC STUDENTS
What is a "Music Showcase?"
Our Music Showcases are Rhapsody Music’s version of a traditional recital—with a more relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Twice a year, students of all ages and skill levels have the opportunity to perform for family and friends, sharing what they’ve been working on in lessons.
We call it a “Showcase” because it’s not about perfection—it’s about progress, expression, and celebrating each student’s unique musical journey. Whether it's a first performance or a polished piece, every student has a moment to shine.

HOW TO CONNECT TO YOUR LESSON
- Open the ZOOM app on your device.
- An email will go out to you where you will see your personal MEETING ID # and PASSWORD with an option to add your lesson to your Outlook or Gmail calendar.
- You can then click on the link in your calendar invite each week or type in your unique MEETING ID # and password, and you'll be put in a virtual queue.
Here are some tips, tricks and cool things about your virtual online lesson.
- Make sure that your back isn't facing a bright light source like a window. Re-position your device so that its back is facing the light source.
- Your instructor will help you position your device in the most optimal place for your lessons at the beginning of each lesson.
- There can be a lag between you and your instructor. This is normal. As you go, you and your instructor will find ways to adjust times where you are playing together or need accompaniment. From the professional instructors we've talked to who use this platform, they have found creative ways around this that actually enhance the instruction!
- Headphones can help with delays but they must be headphones without a microphone (headphones are not required)
- Consider purchasing a USB microphone to connect to your computer. Rhapsody highly recommends this microphone available on Amazon (USB microphones are not required).
- Try to have a quiet area to set up in.
- If you are using a laptop of desktop computer, we highly recommend a good USB microphone to enhance your experience. Rhapsody recommends this microphone on Amazon. This is not required.
- If you are having trouble hearing your instructor or the video is being weird, please stop them and let them know!
- If there are issues with ZOOM at any time, instructors can use FaceTime providing that they and you both have iPhones.
- You can record your lesson and it is okay if you do!! You can then save it and watch it again to further your learning!
- Finally, be respectful and patient with each other. This won't be perfect, but the connection together, learning music, will be!
- Most importantly, keep having fun!!
